Welcome to my website!
I am Dr Phil Northall, an influential qualitative researcher of sustainability issues, with particular interest in industrial decarbonisation and energy. My unique combination of skills includes leading multi-agency partnerships; influencing regional public bodies; managing business behaviour change projects; and founding and running a commercial company. This background allows me to very quickly understand the needs of a wide variety of audiences and design and manage projects to address those needs.
I am driven by a desire to identify the levers of sustainability and to work with partners to maximise their impact and ensure a just transition. I have been recognised by the Institute for Public Policy Research as a 'Northern Light', a list of "50 of the brightest and most talented people in the North of England from the worlds of business, academia, public service, politics, culture, the arts and social and community action".
